Director of Marketing




Nilson Homes is a large production home builder, based in South Ogden, Utah. Our Vision is to Improve lives by building community.  Our Mission is to provide an exceptional experience for clients, team members, and partners by building thoughtfully designed, expertly crafted homes, in lasting communities planned for all stages of life.  
We are currently seeking a happy, self-motivated, extremely detail oriented, and forthright individual who is passionate about the home building industry, to lead our Marketing Team as the Director of Marketing.  

As Director of Marketing you will focus on Brand and Creative. This is a critical leadership position that is responsible for owning the brand strategy, and visual experience across all channels in a way that reflects the vision, mission, values, and culture of Nilson Homes.  You will drive awareness and brand loyalty and partner with peers in sales to reach and exceed big growth goals. Reporting to the VP of Sales and Marketing, you will manage multiple projects as well as a team. 

Responsibilities Include (not limited to):

  • Develop the Nilson Homes brand, look, feel, and personality to deeply resonate with target market.
  • Lead and manage the Marketing team, overseeing content marketing, social media, design and more.
  • Elevate the visual identity of the brand through compelling creative design on all channels, including the website, social media, events, signage, etc.
  • Collaborate with leadership to drive initiatives through brand storytelling.
  • Ensure
    consistent brand style and messaging across all communication channels.
  • Build digital excellence that uses data, testing, and messaging to improve overall performance across media and the digital funnels.
  • Research, collect and analyze data, leverage internal and external resources, and data to report on successes and actionable opportunities for the online marketing
    campaigns.

Required Skills:

  • Ambitious leader who’s eager to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.
  • Entrepreneurial, enterprising, collaborative, and personable.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience (with home builder preferred)
  • At least 2 years of management experience, ideally a combination of designers, videographers, and writers.
  • Highly strategic, creative minded, and results-oriented marketer with a proven track record of building brands while managing the budget and tracking impact.
  • Proven ability to inspire and lead projects with cross-functional peers across the organization.
  • Experience working in a fast-pace, always changing and growing environment.
  • Experience taking initiatives, working independently and actively to resolve issues, and taking ownership of projects and processes.
  • Leadership skills needed for hiring, developing and managing a team.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and formal presentation skills
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications;

  • BA/BS degree in Design, Advertising, or Marketing
  • Experience managing a dynamic, geographically diverse environment.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT - NILSON COMMERCIAL DIVISION


Nilson Homes is a large production home builder in Davis and Weber Counties.  As we continue to grow, we are adding a commercial division to our company.  We are seeking an experienced, highly talented and motivated Executive Assistant to join our commercial team and help grow this division.    

This individual will work under the Director of Commercial Division (“DCD”) and will assume a wide variety of duties and participate in developing the operational infrastructure.  This is an exciting opportunity with significant room for long term employment and growth.


General Responsibilities:

  • Receives, reviews and timely executes all administrative tasks directed to the DCD including special projects as requested 
  • Primary contact for all incoming and outgoing calls, email communications and Dropbox to/from the DCD
  • Responsibilities include anticipating and planning upcoming demands on the DCD and executing high level admin tasks without need for DCD’s instruction or prior approval (responsibility to expand over time with training) 
  • Maintains DCD’s schedule and coordinates appointments
  • Routinely collects specific project and department operational data, reviews and prepares Executive Summaries for the DCD, the department heads and corporate to include budget variance reports, construction schedule updates, department G&A, Daily Field Job Logs including impact events 
  • Coordinate vendor invoices (with appropriate lien releases and insurance proofs) for approval from department heads and submit to DCD for review, then prepare summary and submit to corporate for processing 
  • At the instruction of the DCD, proofread and edit professional documents and letters
  • Provides organizational oversight to establish hard and e-files, maintain filing systems 
  • Handles confidential and non-routine information for DCD
  • Prepares routine DCD meeting agendas, attends and takes meeting minutes when requested by DCD, follow up on action items
  • Prepares and conducts a daily routine status meeting with DCD (outline prescribed by DCD)
  • First person in contact with IT service provider 
  • Maintain passwords for Director of Commercial (DCD)
  • Reconcile Credit Card for DCD 
  • Keep trade contact list updated in Dropbox
  • Print Plans for the project managers
  • Sort and distribute mail for Commercial Office
  • Special projects as assigned


Required qualifications and Skills:

  • New Home Building, Commercial Building &/or development experience is plus
  • Previous experience as an Executive Assistant to either a President, CEO, or Vice President of a mid-large size company (experience in a construction company or real estate developer is a plus)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365: Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and Dropbox
  • Experienced in reviewing and analyzing operating reports including job costing, overhead budgets and preparing variance reports
  • Strong computer, internet research skills
  • Possesses proactive leadership abilities 
  • Self-managed, accountable and dependable
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to organize others as required 
  • Ability to remain focused and organized while under pressure
  • Ability to interact with others on any scale in a professional manner, yet able to be strong and firm if/when necessary 
  • Possesses the ability to visualize the overall objectives from a high altitude
  • Possesses anticipation and scheduling skills, ability to efficiently and effectively plan workloads  
  • Ability to recognize inefficiencies in operating systems and procedures plus offer suggestions for improvements and cause implementation  
  • Exceptional follow-through and follow-up skills 
  • Enjoys multi-tasking in fast paced working environments and able to move from project to project before completion and without becoming disorganized or frustrated

RESIDENTIAL CAD TECHNICIAN / DRAFTER

Nilson Homes is looking for a self-motivated, customer service orientated team member to work in our Drafting Department.  This is a full time position with a well-established and growing company. Primary responsibilities will be to modify pre-drawn house plans according to customer contracts, draw site plans, and other drafting duties as assigned.  

Must be proficient in AutoCAD 2017 (or newer) drawing all aspects of house plans in 2D model and layout spaces using x-references.  Applicant
must have extreme attention to detail and be competent in Microsoft Office software. Strong knowledge and experience in residential construction and design a plus.

RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT




Nilson Homes is expanding and looking to hire an experienced, qualified, residential construction superintendent to oversee the scheduling and quality control of new homes.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, establishing and maintaining schedules, reading and understanding plans and specifications, identifying and resolving problems that may arise during the building process, resolving concerns with customers, communicating with customers and sales agents throughout the home building process, monitoring the quality of material and workmanship on each home, and ensuring that the job sites are operating with safety as a priority.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years as a residential construction superintendent, basic computer skills, excellent leadership skills, and great communication and organizational skills.
